SANGRIA! Can it get any better than this rich, fruity, refreshing drink?
Well guess what? IT CAN.
This summery non-alcoholic version of the old classic is only 84 calories per serving (you’re welllllcome!), whereas traditional sangria can easily hit 200-300 calories per serving because of the sugar and liquor (and you know you weren’t going to have only 1 serving!).
Options and Alternatives
- If you want a sweeter version, you can swap out the soda water for ginger-ale – just be aware of the calorie bump if you’re watching sugar intake.
- You can swap out the lemon for any other citrus fruit, like oranges or limes (or both!).
- You can use agave nectar instead of maple syrup, if you wish.
- Try apples and pears in place of berries for a different flavour. Add a dash of cinnamon to spice it up!
- Try peaches, mangoes, and pineapples for a more tropical treat. Add some coconut water to add to the island feel.
